Cycling is amazing. We’re making it accessible for everyone!
We are an inclusive cycling project run by Disability Sheffield. Our all-ability cycling sessions give Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions the opportunity to ride a wide array of adapted trikes in the safe surroundings of Hillsborough Park.
We have over 30 different trikes and bikes which can be adapted to you. The sessions are run by a trained session leader but rely on the support of a range of volunteers to help deliver the sessions.
Sheffield Cycling 4 All was set up in 2009. The CTC Cycle Champion for South Yorkshire was contacted by Disability Sheffield who had a client that was looking to learn how to use a trike. The funding for the project ran out in 2013.
The project relaunched as Sheffield Cycling 4 All in 2014 thanks to funding from the Big Lottery and support from the CTC and Disability Sheffield.
In 2016 Sheffield Cycling 4 All became a part of Disability Sheffield and secured a grant from money raised by HealthRich through The Health Lottery. Then in 2019, we got a grant from The National Lottery Community fund for another five years!
This funding has enabled Sheffield Cycling 4 All to run year-round sessions and reduce the cost for everyone who comes along. The project now employs two full-time project workers to make sure things run smoothly.
The continued success of the project is thanks to our wonderful cyclists and our team of dedicated volunteers who are always on hand to provide friendly encouragement to the people who turn up to our sessions.
During Covid the project diversified to include online activity classes and a trike loan scheme.
