Cycle loan scheme
We have a fleet of 12 electric assist cycles which are available for anyone living in the South Yorkshire Region, and who is Disabled or has a long-term health condition, to borrow for up to 3 months (depending on demand). We hope that this scheme will enable people to experience pedal power as a mode of transport and is currently free of charge.
As part of the scheme, we can provide:
- – Advice and trial sessions to help find the right cycle for you
- – Ongoing support throughout your loan
- – Cycle confidence rides to help build independence
- – Help with planning safe and accessible routes
Collection & Delivery
Where possible, we ask participants to collect and return their cycles from our loan base at Parkwood Springs. However, if this is a barrier, we can arrange drop-off and collection to support your access.
Please note that we are not qualified to teach people how to cycle. If you are a beginner or want to learn to ride, we recommend contacting local cycle proficiency providers in Sheffield, such as:
- – Pedal Ready: https://www.pedalready.co.uk
- – Cycle Boost: https://cycleboost.org/cycle-training/bike-buddy/
- – Cycle North: https://www.cyclenorth.co.uk/adults
